Cheap wholesale electronics are out there online, but sometimes they skirt the borders of illegality. In China, many factories that produce brand named electronics also produce similar products without the branding with similar functions - sometimes completely identical. While they were mostly sold on the street markets of the big cities to Chinese and ex-pats alike, some of these gray market vendors have taken to selling products online. MilkHoneyLand.com is one such site, which sells many kinds of electronics for dirt cheap.
They sell an "iPhone clone" for $189.95 - far lower than the retail price of proper iPhones, and presumably the ones they're selling have been unlocked for use on any available carrier. They sell a 2GB headset MP3 player for $29.95. The quality of the products is difficult to verify, as there are no customer reviews on the website and the products being offered don't have brand names, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. A 3.0 megapixel digital camera with an LCD screen and an MP3 player goes for $29.95.
Some other Chinese wholesale sites aimed at the English speaking market include Chinavasion.com and Tradestead.com. For people interested in buying straight from the manufacturers and don't mind the added risk of low quality control and a lack of brand names, you really can't beat these freaky Chinese quasi-smugglers. Unbranded motorized nose trimmers that will cost you the contents of your wallet at the now-defunct Sharper Image goes for $2.16 from Tradestead. Even if they explode or poison you, it's still pretty hard to beat deals like that.
